Ku-Band MONOBLOCK LNBF ST-K242F
A Monoblock Quad is a single housing unit containing two separate LNBs (for receiving two different satellites), with each LNB having four independent outputs (Quad capability), resulting in 8 total coaxial outputs.
  • Physical: One unit with two feedhorns

  • Satellite Coverage: Two specific orbital positions (e.g., Astra 19.2°E & Hotbird 13.0°E)

  • Total Outputs: 8 (4 from each satellite's LNB)

  • Function: Allows multiple receivers simultaneous access to both satellites

Key Features

  • Input: 10.7~12.75 GHz
  • LO: 9.75 GHz and 10.6 GHz
  • Polarization: Vertical and Horizontal
  • Receive: Two Satellite (4°~6°)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Monoblock LNB?
This design consists of two independent LNBs in a single housing and allows a user the potential of receiving the signal from two different satellites which are at slightly different orbital opposition from a single dish installation. The switching between the satellites is achieved via the use of DiSEqC signals. Monoblock LNB's are available mostly for satellites with a fixed 2°/ 3°/4.3° or 6° spacing and the range covers Ku band Monoblock switch single, twin and quad outputs. For, example where a 2°Monoblock LNB could be used is for the reception of 5°W and 7° W or with 3° distance for the reception of 13° E and 16° E.

How a Monoblock Quad Works

Monoblock Quad Unit:
├── LNB #1 (e.g., Astra 19.2°E)
│ ├── Output 1: Tuner A, Satellite A
│ ├── Output 2: Tuner B, Satellite A
│ ├── Output 3: Tuner C, Satellite A
│ └── Output 4: Tuner D, Satellite A
│
└── LNB #2 (e.g., Hotbird 13.0°E)
    ├── Output 5: Tuner A, Satellite B
    ├── Output 6: Tuner B, Satellite B
    ├── Output 7: Tuner C, Satellite B
    └── Output 8: Tuner D, Satellite B

Real-World Applications & Use Cases

1. Multi-TV Household with Diverse Needs

  • TV 1: German channels from Astra 19.2°E + Italian channels from Hotbird 13.0°E

  • TV 2: French channels from Astra + Arabic channels from Hotbird

  • TV 3 & 4: Same flexibility across the house

  • Benefit: Every TV can access both satellite clusters simultaneously

2. Recording/Watching Complex Scenarios

With a dual-tuner receiver (like a Twin Tuner PVR):

  • Simultaneous actions possible:

    • Record two channels from Astra

    • Watch one channel from Hotbird

    • All at the same time!

3. Small Multi-Dwelling Unit

  • Apartments or duplex with 2-4 units

  • Each apartment gets access to both satellite groups

  • Centralized dish installation
